As Miss Douglas County I have had the chance to actively
advocate for a worthwhile cause. My own personal experiences as a young woman
in an arduous society, has made my platform a passionate issue for
me to embrace. In my passionate pursuit to develop and transform self
esteem in young women I have had the opportunity to advocate what is truth.
Each person has every gift in their possession necessary to achieve great
things when they recognize and utilize their own talents. As Miss Douglas
County, I will continue to promote wholeness and self direction that
allows individuals of all ages to flourish.
 
My
affiliation with the Girl Scouts organization in Nebraska has allowed me to
actively participate as a mentor, role model, motivational speaker, educator
and community service provider. As a Studio 2-B youth advisor I guide a group
of middle school girls in their pursuit to become active in their communities,
explore their creativity and define their individuality. The girls and I meet
weekly and enjoy doing fun projects together and community service ventures. We’ve
helped out the community of Lincoln through projects such as Relay for Life,
the Animal Shelter, Toys for Tots and Friendship Home. It has been so rewarding
to see the troupe blossom into confident, kind and giving young ladies.
