Happy March Everyone! I hope the Spring season is treating you well. I thought last month was a whirlwind but March has certainly flown by...but what an exhilarating ride it has been.

The Studio 2-B girls have embarked on a mission full of activities and self discovery. The girls are focusing on books called "Take Charge" as well as Dove for Real Beauty's message "Uniquely Me". Through the guidance of the books, the girls and I have taken karate and nutrition classes, taken college campus tours and are planning a camping trip. They certainly keep me on my toes!



Miss Omaha, Alexis Geist and I, braved the blustery March weather for the St. Patrick's day parade in downtown Omaha. Although we couldn't feel our feet by the end of the parade it was very fun to participate in the green festivities! There were over 200 float entrants but I was most impressed by a dance troupe that performs traditional Irish Riverdance. Those little ladies could move their feet a mile a minute...absolutely amazing!



Spring break came and went, but I was productive and managed a trip to Kansas City for some Miss NE preparation. The most memorable activity from this month was preparing Spring Care Packages for the kids at Children's Hospital. 12 young ladies, ranging from pre-school to high school,and Miss Teen Alliance, Chelsea Volz, helped me gather fun trinkets and assemble special baskets for the children. The little ones made cards and were so eager to help fill the gift bags. It was really touching how willing and helpful the young girls were to brighten someone else's day. Along with play dough, games and other odds and ends, there was alot of love that went in the care packages. I'm going to be delivering them to Children's Hospital in Omaha this Friday!



Orientation is on the horizon and I'm really looking forward to reuniting with all of the Miss Nebraska contestants....its always a good time when all of the girls reconvene!
